It’s not easy to go solo when you have already planned many things in a pair. From skydiving to adventurous trips, you may have had a lot in your mind to do with your partner. But hey! The breakup isn’t the last chapter of your life. We are past 2012, and the World isn’t destroyed.
Change your playlist, get a haircut, or go on a solo trip to the hills. Trust me, these lifestyle tips will change your feelings. Here’s what to do after a breakup.
1. Unfollow, Block, Mute:
No matter how much you hate your ex right now, you can’t just refrain from taking a look at his profile. In other terms, it is also known as stalking.
Don’t be a stalker. It just makes things worse. You look at his pictures and status updates and only feel bad about yourself.
Muster up the courage and hit the unfollow button now! Accept the fact that your relationship is over. Also, accept that there’s nothing on Earth more extensive than your health.
Why can’t you if Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez can do it? Open your social media account now, search his profile, and hit the ‘Unfriend’ button. It’s time to rip the band-aid off the wound, girl. Only then will you know how breakups change your personality?
2. Change your Playlist:
In my opinion, songs have the power to control moods. You may be in a good mood until a sad romantic track starts playing on your phone. Boom! All the happiness is gone in just a few seconds. You don’t have to welcome your bad memories through the songs. Create a breakup playlist with feel-good and empowering songs or you can read self motivational tips in today magazine blog.
You can pick ‘Stronger’ by Kelly Clarkson instead of ‘We don’t talk anymore by Charlie Puth. Taylor Swift can also help you out. Pick the right songs to feel the good things happening around you. You don’t need someone else to enjoy your playlist.
If required, delete all the sad songs from your device. Listen to the happy tunes, and you can also try dancing along. Remember how Meredith and Christina from Grey’s Anatomy danced it out to relieve the stress?
3. Line up for Things you have Always Craved for:
This tip is more relatable if you are the one who broke up. Things may not have been going well. You may have fallen out of love due to several circumstances. What is done cannot be undone. You have already done the deed; now, there’s no looking back. Experts say that new experiences can cover up the pain that a breakup causes. It is also an excellent way to get your minds off the division.
Say you are moving out after the breakup. Go shopping for decking up the new place, or you may want to put that swing on your balcony for a long time. It is time. Call your best friends and plan a vacation to the Maldives. I just said it because there’s where I went after my breakup.
New experiences do not encompass only bigger things. You can also try out more minor things, such as signing up for an acting class. I joined a cooking class, and now I have my brand of customized cakes. You may also achieve your dreams; you never know.
4. Take your Time to Grieve:
You have to be honest about your feelings. Grieve, but don’t make your entire life only about that. Your breakup does not describe you. The pain may consume your happiness even before realizing how partitions change your personality. Take your time to grieve your heart out. Bottling up your emotions is not a good idea.
You are not a pressure cooker. You are a human being. Cry when you feel sad, but remember there’s a limit. In my opinion, it is okay to deny social invitations at times and sit back home in your sweatpants and enjoy an Al Pacino movie.
Eventually, your brain would seek pleasure over the pain. But, if you only feel the pain constantly, your mind will cultivate only the negative feelings. That’s not a good idea. Seek professional help if the situation seems to be beyond your control.
5. Take Care of Yourself:
You may no longer be surprised by disappointments. You can shed off the sad personality and reshape a strong one if you learn to care for yourself.
Try out a new look. You can get a haircut, for instance. Go through motivational speeches or watch inspirational movies. Spend time with your best friends to enjoy life to its fullest and not mourn over your lost relationship.
It is normal to miss the cuddles and spooning. Go on friendly dates without pushing too far. You don’t have to go in search of your soulmate anywhere. You can be your soulmate. You can be enough for yourself. Love yourself, and you will find this World a great place to live in.
Wrapping it Up:
Self-dependence is very important, whether you are in a relationship or single. Love makes us do crazy things. But, you need to rejoice in the singlehood phase of your life as much as you would with your partner. Enjoy the entire bed to yourself as long as you don’t have to give a part of it to someone else.
