Korean smartphone giants, Samsung released its latest batch of flagship devices in January 2021 with much pomp and pageantry.
The Galaxy S21, S21 plus and S21 Ultra are the devices in this class. In this article, we take a look at some of the features of the S21 Ultra device, and we would especially focus on its zoom capability.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G was released on January 14th 2021. The phone has a distinctive design which sets it apart from the other S series devices, as it sports an array of 5 cameras slightly elevated on the rear aspect of the phone.
The device comes with 12 or 16 GB of RAM, meaning that you can run more than 15 processes on it simultaneously without experiencing any lags.
Based on location, the phone runs on an Exynos 2100 chip for its worldwide version, and the Snapdragon 888 chip for its United States and Chinese versions. It has a very big non-removable Li-ion 5000 mAh battery which can be fast charged at 25W, and the device makes use of the latest USB Type-C 3.2 for its charging.
The phone runs on the latest Android 11 Operating System and Samsung’s latest One UI 3.1. It has a screen resolution of 1440×3200 pixels and a size of 6.8 inches.
It is a 5G compatible device and can be obtained in the 12GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant, the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant, or the 16GB RAM/512GB internal storage variant.
As with all recent Samsung smartphones, the phone possesses an under display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
All the features of the Samsung S21 Ultra are flagship standard, and the device can do everything you need from a phone from phone calls to surfing the internet, to virtual stuff like visiting the casino online, attending classes and meetings, but what really stands out the most is the zoom function of the camera system of this device.
Without mincing words, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the most powerful camera phones ever. It has a 108 MP main camera as well as four other lenses on the back, one with a 10x optical zoom and another with a 3x hybrid optical zoom, a standard zoom lens, and an ultrawide lens.
The phone can achieve a massive 30x zoom when these lenses are used in combination with the 108MP main camera.
The images taken with the phone’s 10x optical zoom lens can currently not be taken with any of the competing flagships in its range.
Images captured with 10x zoom lenses of the S21 Ultra normally have perfect details with distinct colours and lovely contrast. Going up to 30x zoom, the images begin to lose their definition, and it becomes slightly difficult to clearly define the image.
The phone was also enhanced with the Space Zoom function of Samsung which allows it to take pictures at magnifications of up to 100x, and this function even possesses a Zoom Lock feature that helps to keep the shot steady as you shoot.
At 100x zoom, the device does not produce the clearest or best images, but by using a tripod to shoot, this problem can be reduced. The zoom function gives the Samsung S21 Ultra a huge edge over its competing brands as there are a lot more options available to the S21 Ultra users for shooting pictures.
